  • MTP series High-power DC power supplies passed the EU CE certification
    iDealTek - Electronics' MTP series High Power DC power supply is the company's key switching DC power supply product. Through the experience of business cooperation with SMP MOSFETs bench DC power supplies and STP high frequency IGBT based DC power supplies, the company realizes that product certification is necessary for distribution net building in overseas market, and the company itself also wants to have third-party certification for MTP series High Power DC power supplies to verify the electromagnetic aspects, safety aspects of the High-power DC power supplies series, and whether the internal structure arrangement is reasonable or not. Moreover, this High-power switching DC power supply series with high precision & low ripple DC output can make up for the shortcomings of the SMP series MOSFETs precision low-power switching power supply in the output power range. In June 2018, that is, after the SMP series Benchtop & Rack power supply has just passed the CE and RoHs certification, a prototype was specially made and applied for the CE certification test for this series of power supplies, and successfully obtained the CE certificate in one month.

  • The High-power Switching DC Power Supplies connected in series and parallel successfully
    This is an Australian inquiry but used in India case. The DC power supplies are used for field geological exploration applications. The general principle is to test the conductivity of underground materials through the output of a DC power supply to determine whether there are valuable metal materials underground. At the beginning of 2017, the customer bought a 600V20A DC power supply and it was in good use. The customer wanted to purchase a DC power supply with the same output specifications but can obtain higher voltage and current output by series & parallel connection of multi-unit DC power supplies. However, because the first unit power supply did not consider the expansion port of series and parallel, there is no control board for average output control of multi-units, it is impossible to directly make another DC power supply with the same output to customers for direct series and parallel connection. The customer put forward the following requirements after consideration two DC power supplies option, 750V50A DC output, the power supplies support parallel and series output, the output after parallel connection is 750V100A, and the power supplies' output after series connection is 1500V50A This was a difficult customization task. We actually regretted accepting this case later, because in the end it took us 7 months to complete the two DC power supplies. The research and development cost and labor cost completely exceeded the selling price of the two power supplies. However, the biggest problem was that the power supplies were sent without receiving the customer's balance payment based on our trust on the customer. Unfortunately, the customer's balance payment was late for 13 months after several times follow up mails and calls. Only after we contacted the customer through a third party, the customer completed the payment, which made us quite frustrated so we were very cautious about the credit-based settlement method since then, and even disgusted! However, through this case, we have a basic understanding of the design of series and parallel of multi-units High Power DC power supplies.

  • iDealTek - Electronics' TSP series 10KW switching DC power supply replaces SCR DC power supply in battery charging
    iDealTek - Electronics developed the first-generation High Power DC power supply using hard-switching technology to replace the traditional AC DC power supply based on thyristor components in lead-acid battery charging applications. Compared with SCR DC power supplies, the advantages of switching DC power supplies are as follows: Smaller size and lighter weight. Reliable casters are installed at the bottom of the power supply, which is convenient for mobile use. AC / DC conversion efficiency is greatly improved. Compared with the 70%~75% conversion efficiency of SCR DC power supply, the switching power supply can reach 85% conversion efficiency under 80% load output. Under full load, the output efficiency will be even better. Up to 89%. For battery charging applications that require long-term work, this will greatly reduce the waste of public grid energy and make it more environmentally friendly. The response time is faster. When the output changes in the 10% ~ 90% load range, the transient response time of the output is within 50ms, much faster than 500ms of the SCR DC Power Supplies. As for the long-term reliability of the switching DC power supply that customers worry about, the TSP series of iDealTek - Electronics increases the primary protection, increases the IGBT component margin with optimized control loop to protect the IGBT, and the secondary multi-stage loop adopts effective control as the measures to improve the overall internal protection mechanism of our switching DC power supplies. By the improvements above, the reliability and the long- term continuous working ability of the Switching Mode DC power supplies are achieved, which is sufficient to replace the silicon controlled rectifier power supply.

  • High-power switching DC power supply aiding photovoltaic inverter test system
    It is a long-term communication on different types of DC power supplies from 2015. However, at that time, the maximum output of iDealTek - Electronics' DC power supplies could not reach 1000V / 100KW, no further actions were taken for purchase at that time. Until May 2017, after iDealTek - Electronics made a breakthrough in the switching topology of High-power DC power supplies, we contacted this customer again. The customer showed strong interest in the MTP series High Power DC Switching Power Supplies, and discussed on several DC output specifications, output power: 80KW ~ 100KW, output voltage: 800V ~ 1500V, used to test a kind of controller, the DC output given by the DC power supply is used to simulate battery output in the system. This trial order led a total of 4 High Power DC power supplies with a total output power of 700KW in 2018.

  • iDealTek - Electronics completed custom-made dual-channel DC power supply matching single-rotor motor and excitation motor test on the basic topology of self-developed switching DC power supply.
    After completing the first batch of 5KW low-power switching DC power supply orders and due to the customer's good feedbacks, the customer's Chinese branch factory put forward a higher power demand, the output was further increased to 110Vdc / 11KW, and a dual output customization needs was proposed. In addition, the dual DC outputs are inconsistent with the purpose of matching the needs of different motors. The purpose is to save testing space and improve the efficiency of motor testing. After confirming the load conditions and load connection methods with customers, the company first expanded and upgraded the original circuit topology with simulation test and confirmed that the technical design was feasible. But because the test took 10 days, we had to provide products within 25 days to upgrade the customer's production line. The production pressure was high. At the beginning of the company's establishment, the supplier- chain was not good enough, it took at least two weeks to customize the chassis. In order to match the customer's delivery time, the company had to work overtime to meet the lead time confirmed with the customer. Finally, the delivery was completed 3 days in advance. Although the appearance of the chassis was not good-looking, the customer reported that the customized DC power supply preformed well during test and perfectly meet the individual needs of customers.

    With the continuous deterioration of the global environment and the appeal for reduction of carbon emissions, the use of clean energy to replace the original petroleum energy is admired throughout the world. Clean energy solutions such as solar photovoltaic systems, wind energy systems, and electric vehicles have become the future energy use trend. But the above new energy solutions, without exception, will encounter a problem, how to store energy? What storage medium is used? Lead-acid batteries? Lithium battery? Super capacitor? All not perfect because of the problems of energy storage & transportation convenience and conversion efficiency. In recent years, a new type of fuel cell using hydrogen energy has been introduced into use. Hydrogen is produced through electrolysis, and hydrogen is added to the fuel cell. The electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen produces energy and discharges water, which is more environmentally friendly and efficient. From 2018 to 2019, iDealTek produced a DC power supply for a hydrogen fuel cell manufacturer's customized demand for simulated battery testing. A request from the manufacturer developed the new High Power DC power supply function. The customer needs a constant power output, that is, the power supply can give a wider output voltage and current range, for example, the DC power supply needs to meet the voltage and current range of 0~800Vdc / 0~300A within 80KW output power, according to common sense, The rated power of a 800V / 300A DC power supply should be 240KW, and because of the characteristics of the simulated battery, the peak output power required by the customer is lower than the product of the output voltage and the output current. iDealTek - Electronics has put forward a limited-power function through technical research and development. The concept of limited-power output ensures that the High Power DC power supply can limit the maximum output power to 80KW under the output range of 0~800V, which means that the maximum output current of the DC power supply is 100A at the maximum voltage output of the DC power supply, and the maximum current output of the power supply is 266Vdc at the maximum output voltage of the power supply. This function not only meets the customer's output voltage and current requirements, but also reduces the rated power and accordingly reduces the size and weight of the DC power supply, and reduces the customer's total expenditure cost to a certain extent.
